Our Standards

Honesty

We try to fix most problems on the spot and with a single labor hour.

If a repair is going to exceed a reasonable cost, we will inform you and in most cases can give an estimate on the cost of repair.

Equipment sales are recommended only when a repair is impossible or exceeds what a reasonable person would spend on the equipment. We only lock out equipment if an unsafe condition exists.

Our company is made up of law-abiding citizens with professional integrity. If you so choose, you can trust us in your home around any of your belongings, around your pets, and with keys and codes for access to your home while you are not available.

Fair Pricing

We know our customers are often on a fixed income, therefore we keep our operational costs low and charge less than the local industry average for our services.

Our local area labor rate is $100 per labor hour plus materials. Our labor rate varies by distance up to a maximum of $120 per labor hour.

Our prices are cash/check. Transaction fees apply to all credit card transactions and work that is financed.

Holiday/Sunday Emergency Calls are billed out at 2 labor hour minimum.

Quality

For a small company we are highly experienced. We hold our work to the highest HVAC industry quality standards and we do not cut corners or use inferior materials.

100 years of combined experience in HVAC and electrical trades, including 9 years of college teaching experience.

Our Story

Evans Heating & A/C was founded in 1987 as a partnership between brothers Mark and Gary Evans. The business is located on Woodard Road near Princeton, NC.

Before the founding of the company, Mark and Gary Evans farmed and worked for cousin Ed ‘Hinky’ Rose’s electrical business out of the Brogden community. Mark went to JCC and earned his diploma in Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration. He earned his Refrigeration License, and after working for a handful of local companies also obtained his Heating Contractor’s license. Gary continued his work with Ed Rose and obtained his Electrical Contractor’s License.

In 1987, Mark and Gary founded Evans Heating & A/C and began business as a Bryant dealer. Through the years, the brothers were wiring houses, doing HVAC work, and even building houses. In the 2000’s, the company transitioned to become an American Standard dealer and quickly became one of the largest dealers in the Carolinas. Then 2008 hit.

By the mid 2010’s, the company had downsized as a result of the economy and was back to just Mark and Gary.

Brent Evans, son of Mark Evans, returned to the business as a third owner in 2022 after teaching Heating and Air Conditioning at Johnston Community College and earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration from the University of Mount Olive over the intervening 10 years since he worked for the company.

As of December 2022, Evans Heating & A/C is now legally known as Evans HVAC LLC d.b.a Evans Heating & A/C. The company is currently undergoing a rebranding and local marketing campaign to once again enter a period of growth.
